The kind of short that hangs in the open closet next to the wetsuit and never quite makes it back on the rail. 18 inch inseam, mid-thigh, relaxed through the leg, easy drawcord. Linen breathes through 35° humidity the way cotton just can’t.

Heavier-weight linen with a bit of body — drapes properly, doesn’t crumple into nothing after one wash. Comes out of the dryer creased and that’s exactly the point. Wear them rumpled. Linen earns its character the longer you let it.

• The fibre. 100% linen. Plant-grown, biodegradable, no cotton blend, no elastane. OEKO-TEX Standard 100 tested through the supply chain for harmful substances.
• The fit. Relaxed through the seat and leg, 18 inch / 46 cm inseam, drawcord and elastic waist.
• The build. Two side pockets. Single back pocket. Drawstring waist with metal tip.
• Made for. Dawn dog walks, breakfast at the kiosk, slow drives back from the river, salt drying on bare legs.
