The pair already pulling itself off the rail before you get to the hangers. Mid-thigh length, regular through the leg, single jet back pocket with a metal button so your phone stays put when you sit on the sand. Side pockets deep enough to lose your keys in.

250 GSM cotton twill, preshrunk before it gets to you so what you order is what you keep. Elasticated waistband with a metal-tipped drawcord (the kind that actually holds). Adjustable without looking like activewear.

• The fibre. 100% cotton twill. No nylon, no elastane, no 3% of anything synthetic to “help with the stretch.” The twill weave does that on its own.
• The fit. Regular through the seat and thigh, mid-thigh length, drawcord and elastic at the waist.
